The back office that rides with you
Day rates, invoices, mileage, receipts, bank reconciliation — one set of books that works at the desk and holds up in a dead zone, so year end is a read-out, not a project.

Log the hitch, not the paperwork
A work stretch is one entry — the date range, the well, the rig, the AFE. Invoices assemble themselves from the days you logged, at each client's rates, labelled the way their AP department expects.
- Sequential numbering — invoice numbers allocate atomically and are never reused.
- Day and mileage rates come from the client; GST from your business profile. Set once, applied everywhere.
- Nothing goes unbilled — uninvoiced days stay visible until you bill them.

Every kilometre, proven
Tap once when you leave. In the iPhone app, tracking keeps recording with the phone locked in your pocket, and the route is saved with the trip — proof of the drive, drawn on the map.
- Survey locations resolve offline — type
07-27-039-05W5and it knows the lease. - ⌖ fills a field with where you're standing, even when the geocoder can't.
- Round trips count double, rate caps per client respected on the invoice.

Receipts that file themselves
Snap the receipt at the pump. The reader pulls the vendor, date, and amounts, then matches it to the right expense on its own.
- Multi-page folios become one PDF on one expense.
- No receipt ever existed? Mark it statement-backed — the missing pile stays honest.
- US-dollar receipts reconcile against the Canadian card charge automatically.

Zero bars. Zero lost work.
Field capture works in a dead zone: trips and expenses saved offline wait on your phone — visibly — and upload themselves the moment coverage returns. Replays are collision-proof: a flaky connection can't double-book a trip.

ConsultantBooks syncs pads and wells both ways with DrillersEdge, the wellbore hydraulics and fluid modelling app. One click, signed in with your own DrillersEdge account. A pad's name, surface location, wells, UWIs, AFEs, and rig names typed in either app show up in both — on your invoice line items here, in your well plans there.
Only pads and wells sync. Your invoices, expenses, and finances never leave ConsultantBooks. Conflicts go to the most recent edit, and deletions never propagate.
Requires a DrillersEdge account.
Books your accountant will like
Import bank statements and reconcile in minutes — every expense provable against the bank record. GST returns and the fiscal year-end assemble themselves from what you already entered. ConsultantBooks keeps the records straight — it isn't accounting or tax advice and doesn't replace your CPA. It just means you walk in with clean books.
Import statements; every transaction matched, classified, or flagged — nothing hides.
Prove every expense against the bank record before your accountant asks.
Day rates, mileage rates, retainers — set once, applied everywhere.
UWIs, AFEs, rig names, and lease directions, attached to days, trips, and expenses.
The month at a glance: days worked, spend, and kilometres in one view.
CRA roll-ups on a cash basis, input tax credits broken out, fiscal-year totals ready.
Canadian dollars, plus GST. One price — there is no bigger plan to graduate to.
- Work days, day rates and retainers
- Invoices your accountant can read
- Receipt capture and matching, on the lease or at the desk
- GPS mileage with routes and addresses
- Bank reconcile, GST return and year-end package
- Works with no signal — it syncs when you get bars
Everything else was too complex
I'm a working wellsite supervisor. Generic accounting apps don't know what an AFE, a UWI, or a hitch is — so keeping books meant midnight spreadsheets in camp. I built ConsultantBooks to log the work the way the work actually happens — in the truck, at camp, or at the kitchen table, signal or not.
